Then Minister Paulette preached her trial sermon on Sunday, December 26, 1999 entitled: "There's a lion on the loose". An anointed woman of God ~ She is truly a prayer warrior, who believes in the power of prayer & spends much time studying the word. Minister Paulette became Elder Paulette in April of 2001, when she was ordained with her sister: Elder Deborah J. Ely.
As her father, Bishop Joseph Ely, Jr., D.D. followed instruction from the Lord, Bishop Joseph Ely consecrated Elder Paulette to the office of Assistant Pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Assembly No. 1, Inc. on Sunday, February 16, 2003. In the fall of 2003, Pastor Paulette enrolled in Gordon Cronwell to receive her degree in theology. She truly believes 2nd Timothy 2:15 ~ "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". To better assist her aging father and take the ministry to the next level, Pastor Paulette assumed the position of Sr. Pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Assembly No. 1, Inc. in early 2006. However it was not until Sunday, April 5, 2009 that she was officially installed to the office of the Senior Pastor.
Pastor Paulette was employed at Franklin Sports Industries in Stoughton, Massachusetts for 14 years when she resigned her employment to care for her ill mother, and enter full-time ministry in the winter of 2003. She resides in Hyde Park, Massachusetts with her husband of almost 37 years Deacon John H. Norman, Jr., together they are the blessed parents of 3 beautiful children. Shernice L. Lazare, Janine A. Norman & Pastor John Marshall. She has also been blessed with 3 adorable granddaughters: Ta'Shayla, Ella & Trinity Alease.
As a child Pastor Paulette grew up in the Temple of Christ Church under the direction of the late Bishop Florine Reed. Always attending Sunday school, youth studies, & singing in the choir, Paulette accepted the Lord as her saviour at the young age of 12, and by the grace of God has remained saved.
After Bishop Joseph Ely accepted to become the pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Assembly No. 1 in November of 1965, she worked faithfully and diligently through the years serving in many capacities including: youth president, choir directress, & Sunday school superintendent. In 1988, Paulette was consecrated to the office of a deaconess, until finally submitting to the will of the Lord to accept a higher calling to the ministry.
